Tutorial on creating a round simple_patchmesh

This is another quck and dirty tutorial

so how do you create a round patch mesh without making a square one??

simple first lets go to the patch menu

create a cylender the size of the mesh you want.

now hit shift+c this places a flat round shaped patch mesh on the top and bottom of your cylender

since all 3 meshes are bound to one another you need to unbind them

while they are selected still hit
shift+g this ungroups them now simple delete the bottom one and the cylender the remaing top mesh is round with the texture facing up you can still edit this just lika any other patch mesh

this can be done with any type of cylender you wish to create maybe you played with the veritces to make a star shaped pipe then the mesh would be star shaped....etc.
