Ok, time for my first tutorial. I'm going to show you how to to split up bevels to "multi-texture" them.

Ok, start by making a bevel 128x128x128.
Now, make sure that the segments on it are 8 x 4

Clone the bevel, and subdivide it into 4x4-
Move it above of the first bevel like this.

Move the vertices like this

clone the bevel and align it like this

Now we have a 2 bevels, that we can apply different textures to.

You can do the same with one of the last bevels (That is why I set the horizontal segments to 4 at first), and split up the bevels again, maybe into something like this.

In the top view, you can see that the new bevels fits perfectly on the original bevel

Here is another example of what you can do with this (.gif, wait 3 seconds).

And another.

This is a "beveled corner" of made of around 50 indivdual patches, in the last screenshot I retextured it so it would be easier to see the different parts

Ok, let me know what you think, I hope you find this usefull

When I read your post's title I was desperately hoping there was a way to split meshes kinda the same way we do by clipping brushes - to no avail. Still this technique is a good one that takes a simple curved hallway and turns it into something really quite magnificent. One can perhaps name man's greatest achievement which include the wheel, farming, condoms and patch meshes.

Nice first tutorial and hopefully more will follow in the future.

just one thing, the patch in this example dont be need to be 8*4, the vertical position is the same so it can be 8*1, but i think the engine makes it automaticly it into 8*1, or am i wrong?

You are right I guess, depending on how much you want to split them horinzontaly, in my example 8x2 is all that is needed, perhaps I should add another step or edit that. Thanks
