first off i hope i can post so many images at once, info would be great and sry in advance if not

as u can read in the title i do some resident evil universe mod.. many zombie stuff out there but its still nice topic

i post these screens to get some feedback from u guys positive and negative, its still in pretty early stage, everything
changes from day to day but still u can get some clue what it will look like i think

story is settled between game and movie... especially the circumstances in third re game where u play valentine in the city. new character in a special ops who are trying to get some infos and antiviruses while hell is breaking out in the city.
still they think there is a chance to get everything under control. so its pretty much hurrying in the game at last i hope..
but im trying to have some feeling of the first game in this mod, like the old house in which the mod starts. its a house of one of the leading scientists of umbrella where the named special ops is trying to find some clue to get out of this horror.
somthing like that. as said i hope to get some input here!
cya later

That's pretty good level design. What features will this mod have?

Good choice for the setting, the first game was the best. Those screens look pretty good, I always hoped someone would make a Resident EVil mod. I've seen a lot of RE mods start and then never get finished for a quite a few different games, do us a favor....don't stop!!!

well up to now i want to get the visuals, level design done thats something like phase 1
after these pretty much done ill concentrate on features i can imply and overwork them with the maps again

as for now its important to me to get some cinematic feeling while playing the game.. i liked this in d3
creating dark atmosphere with sounds and visuals as good as possible and to sum it up with some good scripting

story telling also a big part, as i want to complete some parts of the resident evil history from my view with the d3 engine

edit: yeah that true CrimsonHead, i would love to do like 3 chronicles titles short but good, story is pretty much finished
in detail for the first one and up to now d3 gives the best engine for a re mod.. like the zombies and stuff
only concering here is that d3 give no retail marine-shoots-zombie animation.. that will have to be coded for some
good fights tho, but up to then ill take some retextured zsecs with new sounds from range ;)

Very nice, When I was working on my mansion map for "alone" I used the first resident evil mansion as part of some references.

Just curious, have you played the RE-remake on Gamecube? You know it has those extra rooms, the cemetary, and the hallway under the main stairs and stuff. I would love to see a cemetary like that in the Doom³ engine.

yeah i know these rooms.. we will see whats implemented, of course i try to take some goodies off the house and texture styles from the re ones and get some inspirations

locations-follow up like this i have imagined for the mod..
1. the house
2. english dark garden style, messed up and old
3. some kind of guard house but newer style one which has a underground passage to the train (taken off the movie), which connects to the central hive
4. but u wont get there, train will have crash, so u have to manage ur way up top again through the maintainance tunnels
5. short part of the city where u find some kind of vehicle

there the first chronicle ends, something like that
through all these levels u will "follow" a strange person which u see in the house at a certain point

much to do tho, trying to find a good way between progress and quality, lets see

Hi Pskyrunner

I like your screenshots. Although i recognize some custom textures i made for my own Mansion map. I hope you realize it's nice to ask permission or add credits to the people that made custom textures/models etc. before using them for your own mod/map. I don't have any problem with people using my textures/models but please just let me know before posting something public.

good luck with you mod.

it's ok np  Just remember next time. Or if you post something before asking the authors make at least a comment about the things your using. Your screens look promising and i hope you succeed in getting something released.

:P well still way to go heh

first house part is "phase 1" finished
atm im maybe thinking about releasing map after map...

what do u guys think about this kind of release-style?

whole chronicle 1 part would still need few months to be released

edit: i love these screens where u see some of the texture details up to now

another edit:
or i could release single parts like the house, garden, train etc, sounds interesting to me tho

i would prefer a staggered release, but only if there was someway saves from one map could be used to follow on to the newer episodic releases;although im unsure if this could be done? maybe force a save at the end of the level, then have the player reload that then access the endlevel?

maybe release the first map as a "teaser"
and then the rest when its done in one full and neat package?? :)

EDIT as someone said, "always leave them not hungry but not
full either, then they come back" ^^
