This is the Quake4 version of the "Bermuda Bytes" map, probably known to some of you from my Quake3 "Monkey Kombat Arena" mod.

As you can see from the screenshots below, the look has changed to more pastel colors while the map itself stayed almost the same.

Would be nice if some of you take the time and have a look inside as I always appreciate tips and hints to improve my work.

The file is HERE: :http://monkeykombat.planetquake.gamespy.com/Bermuda_Bytes_01.zip (just unzip it into your q4base folder)

Unfortunately I can't promise you any action as there are still no monsters, apes or whatever alive or undead on the islands.

If you enter the water you will find THE major bug: What should be a nice, caribbean ocean which is fun to swim in behaves in the strangest and most annoying ways. You can swim a couple of game units and than drop to the ground like a rock.

Whoever can help me with that will find him-/herself on top of my credits list! (- If that's not REAL BIG motivation... )

Another problem is the export of the weapon models to .md5meshes. Every time I attach the submeshes to a single mesh (in MAX), the surface of some of it's parts breaks up into triangles in game.

(What you see inside the map are only .ASEs).

I posted that problem HERE
http://www.doom3world.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=16645 some days ago. So if someone hasn't found it there but knows a solution, he/she will find his/her name on second place of my credits list!

I don't know how to do water but I know this looks funkier than a hippy wearing a clownsuit.

I played this and read the readme about new weapons, yet the weapon models are still the same. Maybe I misinterpreted? By the way, love the look.

Nice to read that you like the map!

Do you mean the models in the map are the default id weapons or those in player's view? Those in the map should be my coustom ones. If not, please let me know. It's always hard to detect missing files on the same computer everything was build.

The models in player view will be the next thing I'm working on.
